Day 3: Basra - Mesopotamian Marshes - Nasiriyah (Journey: 4 hrs) (B) Journey to the remarkable Mesopotamian Marshes, one of the world's oldest wetland landscapes. Cruise through the reed-filled waterways by traditional mashoof boat and experience the unique lifestyle of the Marsh Arabs. Continue to Nasiriyah in the afternoon and check in to the hotel. Day 4: Nasiriyah - Ur - Najaf (Journey: 3 hrs) (B) Step into the world of ancient Sumer at Ur, home to the magnificent Great Ziggurat, a monumental stepped temple built during the Sumerian period. Continue towards Najaf, one of Iraq's most important religious cities and a major center of Shia Islam. Visit the magnificent Imam Ali Shrine, distinguished by its striking golden dome and richly decorated interior. Day 5: Najaf - Babylon - Karbala (Journey: 2 hrs 30 min) (B) Depart Najaf and travel towards Babylon, the legendary capital of ancient Babylonia and one of the most famous archaeological sites in Iraq. Explore the legendary ruins of Babylon, including the iconic Ishtar Gate and Processional Way. Continue to Karbala, Iraq's sacred pilgrimage city, and experience the beautifully illuminated Imam Hussein Shrine after sunset. Day 6: Karbala - Baghdad (Journey: 2 hrs) (B) Travel to Baghdad, the capital and largest city of Iraq. Visit Al-Mutanabbi Street, Baghdad's famous historic book market. Explore the surrounding old quarter and traditional cafés. Visit the Saving Iraqi Culture Monument, which symbolizes the collective effort to protect Iraq's ancient cultural heritage. Continue to Al-Shaheed Monument, one of Baghdad's iconic landmarks, a striking turquoise-domed structure commemorating Iraqi soldiers who lost their lives during the Iran-Iraq War. Day 7: Baghdad - Samarra - Mosul (Journey: 6 hrs) (B) After breakfast, depart Baghdad and travel north towards Samarra, one of Iraq's most important Islamic archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Day 8: Mosul - Rabban Hormizd Monastery - Duhok (Journey: 2 hrs) (B) After breakfast, explore the Old City of Mosul. Much of the area was severely damaged during the conflict with ISIS between 2014 and 2017. The city has undergone extensive reconstruction in recent years, offering an opportunity to observe its remarkable recovery and the preservation of its cultural heritage. Continue to Alqosh and visit the spectacular mountainside Rabban Hormizd Monastery. The monastery dates back many centuries and is one of the most important ancient Christian monasteries in the region. After the visit, continue into Iraqi Kurdistan and travel to Duhok. Stay: Duhok |

Day 9: Duhok - Amedi - Duhok (4 hrs return journey) (B) Breakfast at Martyrs Tea Shop. Discover the dramatic mountain landscapes around Duhok. Begin with a stop at the Saddam Palace Viewpoint, offering dramatic views across the surrounding valleys and mountains. Continue to Inishki Cave, a natural and historically interesting site set among the rugged landscape. Explore the historic mountain town of Amedi, perched dramatically above the surrounding valleys. Day 10: Duhok - Lalish - Erbil (Journey: 3 hrs) (B) Visit Lalish, the holiest religious site of the Yazidi people, nestled within a beautiful mountain valley. Discover its ancient shrines and unique religious heritage before continuing to Erbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan. Day 11: Erbil - Hamilton Road - Erbil (5-6 hrs return journey) (B) Embark on a spectacular mountain journey along the historic Hamilton Road. Enjoy the scenery at Bekhal and Ali Beg Waterfalls. Then explore Rawanduz and take in breathtaking views of the dramatic Rawanduz Canyon. After enjoying the mountain scenery, begin the return journey to Erbil. Stay: Erbil |

Day 12: Erbil - Akre - Erbil (3 hrs 30 min return journey) (B) Begin the day with a half-day tour of Erbil. Visit the historic Erbil Citadel, which rises above the city center and offers panoramic views over the surrounding city. Explore Qeyseri Bazaar, the traditional covered market located below the citadel. Wander through its narrow lanes filled with local shops, handicrafts, spices, textiles and traditional products. Continue to Akre, one of Iraqi Kurdistan's historic mountain towns. Explore its old streets and traditional neighborhoods. Return to Erbil in the evening. Stay: Erbil |

Respect Local Culture: Iraq is a conservative Muslim country. Please respect local customs, traditions and religious practices, and dress modestly, particularly when visiting religious and cultural sites.
Photography: Photography may be restricted at certain religious, military, government or security-sensitive locations. Always ask your guide before taking photographs, particularly around checkpoints and security personnel.
Security & Checkpoints: Security checks and checkpoints are part of travelling in Iraq. Please carry your passport or required identification as advised by the tour leader, and cooperate patiently with local security personnel.
Weather & Walking: The itinerary involves considerable walking, uneven surfaces and outdoor sightseeing. Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and a light jacket are recommended. Mountain areas in Kurdistan may be considerably cooler.
Local Conditions: Access to certain sites may be restricted or changed without prior notice due to religious events, local conditions, restoration works or security considerations. Alternative arrangements may be made where necessary.
